Animation and Motion Graphics
Animation and motion graphics are powerful storytelling tools, offering endless creative possibilities. At Preston Street Films, we have extensive experience using them to enhance and transform video content. Whether it’s subtle animated elements within a live-action film or a fully animated production, animation allows you to break free from real-world limitations. From explaining complex ideas with clarity to creating visually striking brand narratives, the possibilities are limitless. Let us help you bring your vision to life in a way that captivates and engages your audience.
Case Study: BBC Bitesize History
BBC Bitesize commissioned us to create a series of 29 short documentary films designed to support pupils studying history in Scotland. The project aimed to produce engaging, educational content tailored to the National 4/5 and Higher syllabus, making complex historical concepts accessible and memorable for students.
Each film blends original archive material, stock footage, live-action elements, animation and motion graphics to create a dynamic, visually cohesive series. The use of onscreen text and animated graphics highlights key terms and concepts, ensuring that the content is both engaging and highly effective as a revision resource.
Case Study: Majestic - Tricky
We were commissioned by All Saints to make this video for Majestic, a Ministry of Sound house producer, garage MC and resident Kiss FM DJ.
Working with the excellent Dan Cox we created this 3d animated creature (which we referred to as the Spaghetti Monster) who dances to the track in a grimy warehouse.
Case Study: BBC Ideas - Sporting Parents
How can you best support your child’s sporting activities, without getting over or under-involved? Here are a few pointers.
Using simple 2D animation, motion graphics, and on-screen text seamlessly blended with live-action footage, the film brings key concepts to life in an engaging and accessible way.
Case Study: Happy Hel-oween
Automotive brand HEL, a proud sponsor of Exeter City Football Club, wanted eye-catching content for the big screens at the stadium as well as online. To help them celebrate Halloween in a fun and memorable way, we created a dynamic football-playing skeleton, blending sport and seasonal spirit into a unique and engaging 3d animation.
