This series of films will use 2D animation with some sequences overlaid on live action video. The cartoon style animation will be the same for both age groups, with content and script changing depending on curriculum and the required level of detail. We will pay special attention to ensure the content is age appropriate – for example, additional on-screen text for the 8-11 age group to highlight key words. The films will be funny, dynamic and engaging, aiming to inspire students with their creativity in a way that feels accessible and motivating.
The series is presented by an animated book who goes on journeys to learn how to write a story. Each film starts with the book character overlaid on footage of a different setting that reflects the themes of the topic (for example, a library to explore plot or a cinema to see how words effect a story). When further explanation is needed, the book opens up so that the pages become the canvas onto which the animated journey unfolds. Our presenter meets other characters along the way and together they deal with challenges and problems that writers face, as they go on inspiring storytelling journeys. The animation style will be rich, fun, and appropriate for both age groups.
Each film will be anchored in the curriculum and be guided by our education consultant, bringing characters, ideas and visuals to life and helping students grasp and remember learning concepts.
