Case Study: STRIVE
STRIVE is a research consortium investigating the social norms and inequalities that drive HIV. Thirty years into the AIDS epidemic, science shows that certain methods work to prevent and treat the virus. And yet this has not stopped the spread of HIV. More and better evidence is needed on how structural forces increase vulnerability to HIV and on the interventions that work, in practice, to address them.
In our work with STRIVE Research Consortium we used video, animation and motion graphics to support their work investigating the social norms and inequalities that drive HIV. Through documentary films we brought to life real stories from real people and the impact STRIVE research has had on their lives and communities. Using animation and motion graphics, we took STRIVE’s complex and detailed research findings and turned them into short animated clips that are engaging and communicable to non-researchers such as funders, policymakers and other stakeholders.
Case Study: CARTA
Our work with CARTA has been ongoing for several years. We partnered with Pemba Productions to create a body of work that captures the CARTA approach in supporting the development of a vibrant African academy, leading to world-class multidisciplinary research with positive impact on public and population health. The CARTA method is unique and complex, it plays out across several years and is hosted across 8 African countries. Case Study: JASS
We teamed up with Pemba Productions to produce numerous communication outputs for JASS, promoting their work around the world in supporting Feminist Organisations. Often relying on existing footage/photos of various qualities, we created a series of clips that capture the people and movements that JASS supports in various political contexts.
